Report: Triple H Makes Decision Around WWE WrestleMania 39 Main Event

Triple H has a plan in place for the WrestleMania 39 main event

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H has decided on his contingency plan should The Rock choose not to compete at WrestleMania 39 against Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

WWE's plans for WrestleMania 39 ultimately hinge on The Rock making a decision but Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Triple H has finalised the backup plan for Reigns. Cody Rhodes is considered the overwhelming favourite to face Reigns at 'Mania if The Rock is absent. If The American Nightmare is the backup plan remains unconfirmed, though.

Furthermore, Meltzer reported there has been a lot of talk about creating a second world title for either Raw or SmackDown within WWE. WrestlingNews.co noted that the WWE Title would be defended separately from the Universal Title at WrestleMania 39, with Seth Rollins facing either Drew McIntyre or Cody Rhodes for the WWE belt, depending on The Rock's decision. Meltzer claimed that was not in the works as of this week, however.

WrestleMania 39 will take place on April 1 and April 2 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
