Report: Update on Aleister Black's Situation In WWE

The former NXT Champion has not been seen since October

Aleister Black has not appeared on WWE programming since facing Kevin Owens in a match in October and, according to recent reports, it is unlikely we will be seeing the former NXT Champion any time soon.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, said that Black will be 'stuck in catering' until his WWE contract runs out, unless Vince McMahon has a huge change of heart, decides he likes the 35-year-old and finds a spot for him on the show.

It was reported back in February that McMahon does not see anything for Black, or fellow former NXT Champion Andrade, in WWE, and it appears that his position has not changed in the past few weeks.

Black signed with WWE in 2016 before making his NXT debut in 2017. His disappearance from WWE television coincided with the release of his wife Thea Trinidad, known in WWE as Zelina Vega, who was let go on account of her not wanting to give up the use of her third-party platform accounts such as Twitch.

Vega would also tweet her support for unionisation among professional wrestlers just moments before her release was confirmed, something that was clearly in protest against WWE's new policy against the use of third-party platforms.
