Report: Update On Mercedes Mone's Injury Status

Mercedes Moné has been out injured since May

Mercedes Moné has been out of action since May, with the former IWGP Women’s Champion suffering an ankle injury during a bout with Willow nightingale at NJPW Resurgence.

Initial fears were that Moné had suffered a break, but it was soon believed to be a severe sprain. Moné recently travelled to IMPACT Wrestling’s Slammiversary PPV in Canada on July 15 to support Trinity in her Knockouts World Championship match against Deonna Purrazzo, and a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter states that the former WWE Women’s Champion was still on crutches at the event, with her foot in a walking boot.

Whilst Moné’s injury is believed to be a severe sprain this has never been confirmed, with Moné herself staying quiet on the situation. It’s not currently known when Moné will be cleared to make a return to pro-wrestling.

Moné arrived in New Japan Pro Wrestling earlier in 2023, and has wrestled five times for NJPW and STARDOM across Japan and the USA.
