Report: Update On Roderick Strong's WWE Status

Latest on Roderick Strong in WWE

Roderick Strong's future with WWE has appeared uncertain in recent weeks, especially after it emerged he would not be a part of the WWE 2K23 roster despite being in last year's video game.

In an update, Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Strong remains under contract with WWE but the company simply aren't using him at the moment.

"He is still under contract there. He has not been released. They're not using him right now," Meltzer said.

Strong was written off WWE TV back in September 2022 at World's Collide, being attacked in the NXT parking lot before he was taken away in an ambulance. The angle came only days after it emerged that Strong was dealing with an injury. Meltzer's report suggests the former NXT North American Champion has since recovered from any issues, though.

Months before being written off TV, Strong wanted out of WWE and he reportedly requested his release on multiple occasions over a number of months. At the time, all of his former Undisputed ERA faction mates and his wife Marina Shafir were a part of All Elite Wrestling. Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, and Shafir are still with the promotion, while Bobby Fish left in the summer of 2022 when his contract expired.

Strong has been a part of WWE since 2016.
