Report: Update On WWE's Plans For House Shows When Touring Resumes

WWE hopes to go back on the road in the second half of 2021

Since WrestleMania 37, there has been much talk about when WWE could decide to go back on the road. The company's Chief Financial Officer Kristina Salen has previously said WWE hopes to resume a full touring schedule in the second half of 2021 and plans are reportedly in place to hold a number of test events in July or August.

With All Elite Wrestling seemingly planning to resume touring in July, though, reports have noted WWE could move their return to the road up to June.

When WWE ultimately does go back on the road, Friday Night SmackDown and Monday Night Raw will take place in venues across the United States. The future of house shows has been less clear, though, particularly as the events have been money losers for WWE in recent years.

Some clarity on the situation has now seemingly been provided by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. He noted WWE talent have been told the company won't be running as many live events as in the past, but plans are in place to hold a couple of house shows every weekend.

Meltzer noted WWE could change their plans by the time an official announcement is made, but that is the working idea for the time being.
