Report: WWE Locker Room Is "Fuming" With Jaxson Ryker

Protests over the death of George Floyd entered their 10th night yesterday as protestors took to the streets once again in at least 140 cities. Floyd died in police custody after Derek Chauvin kneeled on his neck for over nine minutes, sparking demonstrations against police violence and racism throughout the United States. 

President Donald Trump's response to the protests has been widely criticised as he recently tweeted a letter calling protestors "terrorists" and told governors he would send in the US military if they did not "dominate" city streets. 

The protests entered the professional wrestling world earlier this week as SmackDown Superstar Jaxson Ryker praised the WWE Hall Of Famer, tweeting: "Thankful for the ‪@POTUS we have! God bless America. Built of freedom. Forgotten No More."

This prompted a furious response from many within the wrestling world including Batista, Kevin Owens, Ricochet, Sami Zayn, and Mustafa Ali. Ryker's partners in The Forgotten Sons Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake also distanced themselves from his comments. 

Dave Meltzer provided an update on the situation in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. A WWE source told Meltzer Ryker can't be fired for expressing freedom of speech, but the locker room is "fuming" with him and tensions remain "very high" backstage. Whether Ryker is used at future WWE tapings remains to be seen, but Meltzer was also told the company is considering dropping The Forgotten Sons gimmick altogether in wake of the George Floyd protests.
