Robert Roode Returns On WWE Raw

It was almost a glorious return...

On last night's episode of Monday Night Raw, Drew McIntyre looked to move past his feud with Randy Orton and he issued an open challenge to anyone who had yet to fight him for the title.

Dolph Ziggler initially answered The Scottish Psychopath's challenge, but only so he could introduce the returning Robert Roode. The Glorious One was traded to the red brand with his tag team partner back in June in exchange for AJ Styles.

The Glorious One pushed McIntyre to his limit as he repeatedly worked over the champion's knee and even connected with the Glorious DDT for a near fall. It was all in vain, however, as The Scottish Terminator put the challenger away with a Claymore after 12 minutes.

The rematch from NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III was Roode's first bout since Elimination Chamber back in February. The former United States Champion went on hiatus soon after the pay-per-view because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but reports in recent weeks noted he was set to return soon.
