Roster Concerned About AEW Attendances & Popularity

Concerns within the AEW roster about recent attendances and popularity of the company

All Elite Wrestling’s attendance figures, ticket sales, and TV ratings have been the subject of some discussion within the wrestling industry, with the steady year-on-year decline of the promotion’s popularity no secret.

As fans and commentators alike ponder what this means for the current state of AEW, in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Dave Meltzer suggests that there is concern within the AEW locker room about the current popularity and the less than impressive attendances of AEW shows over the past 12 months or so.

Whilst there is some worry amongst the locker room, Meltzer notes that the locker room itself is on the whole in a much better state than at times in the past, with the recent incident between MJF/Alicia Atout/Britt Baker believed to have been an isolated incident blown out of proportion.

Critics of AEW have pointed at all manner of reasons for why AEW’s popularity is lower than it was at its peak in 2021/2022, although it should be noted that wrestling promotions throughout history go through hot and cold spells, with AEW hoping that this current perceived lull is just that -  a cold spell.
