Rumour Killer On Big Swole's AEW Departure
Swole announced her departure this week
Earlier this week it was announced that Big Swole will be leaving AEW, with many believing that the two sides came to a mutual decision to end Swole’s contract early.
However this doesn’t seem to be the case, and a new report from Fightful Select has shed some more light on the nature of Swole’s departure:
“To clarify a misconception, we're told the deal wasn't ended prematurely as some online had speculated, and those within AEW have stated that her deal was up at the end of November, and the contract simply expired. Swole had a couple of absences in 2021 that sidelined her from the ring, and hadn't wrestled since September. Her battles with Crohn's Disease were well documented, and Fightful was told she also wasn't at many of the recent tapings.”
Swole’s contract expiring comes at the same time as others in AEW, with The Young Bucks recently agreeing to new deals, whilst deals are apparently being worked on for Cody Rhodes and Kenny Omega, amongst others.
Fightful’s report also stated that there’s allegedly no extensive heat between Big Swole and AEW, and sources didn’t suggest that the relationship ended on bad terms.
