Several Matches Announces For Next Week's AEW Grand Slam
AEW Grand Slam has had four new matches announced over the last few days
AEW will be hosting Dynamite & Collision back-to-back next week at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York for the 2024 edition of Grand Slam, which marks the fourth annual edition of this special TV event for the promotion. Even though next week is fast approaching, there were still several new matches announced during last night’s live taping of Collision in Springfield Massachusetts.
After months of getting in each other’s way, with Jeff Jarrett playing a role in costing ‘Hangman’ Adam Page multiple shots at the AEW World Championship, Page putting his hands on Jarrett’s wife, and multiple backstage brawls between the pair, Jarrett & Page will finally do battle in the ring once again. This will come in a Lumberjack Strap match, in which those at ringside will also possess straps. Names such as the Bang Bang Gang, Dark Order, The Conglomeration, and Jarrett’s allies in Satnam Singh and Jay Lethal will be at ringside.
Current ROH Tag Team Champion Sammy Guevara has not been back on AEW programming for very long, but he is already setting his sights on singles gold. In a backstage interview, Guevara issued a challenge for current AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada in a title eliminator, stating that if he won, he would challenge Okada at Dynamite’s 5-Year Anniversary for the gold.
The ongoing issues between members of The Learning Tree and The Conglomeration will continue, with a Tornado Trios match set for Grand Slam: Collision next week. Cassidy picked up a singles victory over Jericho on this week’s Dynamite. Finally, Saraya & Jamie Hayter will do battle after their issues have bubbled on for several weeks since Hayter’s All In return. They will meet in a “Saraya’s Rules” match, in which Saraya will be handed the advantage.
