Sasha Banks Sustains Foot Injury, Out 6-8 Weeks

The injury was sustained at a house show on Sunday

Sasha Banks suffered a foot injury at a house show on Sunday night in North Carolina while wrestling Charlotte Flair, and is expected to be sidelined into February.

The injury occurred while taking an awkward bump off of a backbreaker, and required assistance to the locker room. The injury was termed as a bruise to her calcaneus bone, located in the heel of the foot.

An update on the matter from WWE reads, "Sasha Banks suffered a foot injury Sunday evening at a WWE Live! event in Fayetteville, NC. After seeking emergency medical attention, it was determined nothing was broken. Sasha underwent an MRI and it was discovered she has a bruised calcaneus bone. She is at home recovering and undergoing physical therapy. She is expected to be out of action for 6-8 weeks."

Based on the suggested timeframe that Banks will be out, she would miss the 2022 Royal Rumble, which takes place three weeks from tonight.

Nineteen names were announced for the women's Royal Rumble match on last night's SmackDown, with Banks not being among them. Flair, the reigning SmackDown Women's champion, was one of those announced names, suggesting that she won't be defending her title on the card.
