SPOILER: Former Champion Returns At AEW Collision Taping

Former champion back on TV at AEW Collision

A return will take place on Saturday night's episode of AEW Collision on June 29.

All Elite Wrestling taped the go-home edition of Collision before Forbidden Door from Buffalo, New York on Wednesday night. In a segment taped before AEW Dynamite that will air on Collision, Serena Deeb defeated Kelly Madden in a squash match. The former NWA Women's World Champion then asked for competition on her level, which led to Riho's latest return to All Elite Wrestling and she and Deeb faced off to bring the segment to a close.

Wednesday night was Riho's first appearance on AEW programming since a loss to Willow Nightingale on the March 13 episode of Dynamite. The loss to Nightingale ended a brief run of matches for Riho in the promotion, having returned to AEW TV in February after she unsuccessfully challenged Toni Storm for the AEW Women's World Championship at December's Worlds End pay-per-view.

Riho revealed in April that she had to travel to Japan to renew her United States Visa. She was unsure when she would return to All Elite Wrestling at the time.

Riho is an AEW original and she was the inaugural AEW Women's World Champion, holding the belt for 133 days from October 2019 until February 2020.
