Taya Valkyrie Signs With AEW, Debuts On Dynamite

The former Impact Knockouts champion is All Elite

Former Impact Knockouts champion Taya Valkyrie has signed with AEW, and made her promotional debut on Wednesday night's Dynamite in Winnipeg.

TBS Women's champion Jade Cargill had just finished defending her title against Canadian wrestler Nicole Matthews when she cut a post-match promo, asking if that was the best Canada had to offer. With that, Valkyrie's music hit, and she confronted Cargill and Leila Grey inside the ring.

As Cargill left the ring, Grey tried to attack Valkyrie, only for Valkyrie to hit her with the Road to Valhalla (her version of Cargill's Jaded).

Tony Khan then put out the standard "...is All Elite" tweet, writing, "Welcome to AEW, @thetayavalkyrie! Great to see a Canadian star arrive TONIGHT on TBS on Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite in Winnipeg!"

Valkyrie is best known for her stints in Impact Wrestling, where she reigned as Knockouts champion for over one year from January 2019 to January 2020. She is also a two-time Knockouts Tag Team champion. Reports indicated that Valkyrie finished up with Impact at the end of February.

Valkyrie also wrestled in NXT in 2021, under the name Frank Monet.
