Tony Khan: Adam Cole Used To Scare The Sh*t Out Of Me During The Wednesday Night Wars

Cole debuted for AEW on Sunday night

All Elite Wrestling boss Tony Khan says there is no one he would rather have in the company than new signee Adam Cole, admitting that the former WWE NXT guy 'scared the sh*t out of me' when the two brands competed on Wednesday nights.

Cole made his surprise debut for AEW at the conclusion of All Out 2021 on Sunday evening, aligning with Kenny Omega and The Elite following Omega's AEW World Title defence against Christian Cage.

Having been such a stand-out figure for NXT during his time with WWE, Cole's ability and talent is not lost on AEW CEO Khan, who is happy to admit that he was worried about what Cole would do each week on WWE's black-and-gold brand.

Speaking at the end of the post-AEW All Out media scrum, as Cole was leaving, Khan said: "“As he exits, I would just like to say a statement, which is that the ‘Wednesday Night War’ is over. We went, in the demo, I believe out of 75 episodes, we went 74-1. He [points to Cole] is the ‘1’ in 74-1.

"When there was a ‘Wednesday Night War,’ this is the man that used to strike fear into my heart every Wednesday. I used to be scared. This guy scared the sh*t out of me every Wednesday. There’s nobody I’d rather have here and it means the world that you came. Thank you."
