Trick Williams Wins WWE NXT Title At Spring Breakin'

Trick Williams has claimed the WWE NXT Championship.

With his NXT career on the line, Williams challenged Ilja Dragunov for the NXT Title in the main event of NXT Spring Breakin' night one. The closing stages saw Dragunov hit a second H-Bomb, only for Trick to kick out. Dragunov then managed to connect with a third H-Bomb, this time from the top rope, but the NXT Champion was unable to capitalise. 

After multiple near falls, both competitors called back to their NXT Vengeance Day match and lined up in opposite corners to hit their finishers. Unlike their February match, though, Williams connected with the Trick Shot before Dragunov could hit the Torpedo Moscow. This left Dragunov down and Trick made the cover to become the new NXT Champion. 

Following the match, Dragunov handed the NXT Title to Trick and the two men embraced. The new champion then proceeded to celebrate with the fans inside the WWE Performance Center as NXT went off the air. 

Dragunov's loss ended his NXT Title reign at 206 days. The Mad Dragon had been champion since he defeated Carmelo Hayes back at No Mercy in September 2023. Dragunov will now likely move to the WWE main roster, having already declared for the WWE Draft.

Trick Williams, meanwhile, is scheduled to be the face of NXT for the foreseeable future.
