Update On JBL's WWE Status Following TNA Debut

JBL has appeared in various other promotions recently, including TNA and GCW.

WWE Hall of Famer JBL has recently appeared in various promotions including TNA, GCW and AAA. This has led to fans questioning his current WWE status, with PWInsider Elite providing an explanation:

"In speaking with numerous sources, we are told that Layfield is currently under a WWE Legends deal. That would allow him to appear elsewhere as long as he doesn't violate any WWE Intellectual Property, hence the Bradshaw name not being used in the appearances. We are told WWE has no issue with Layfield making appearances, seeing it as no different than any other Hall of Famer appearing elsewhere."

JBL recently appeared at the end of TNA's recent Emergence show, speaking off-mic with Nic Nemeth (formerly Dolph Ziggler in WWE) following the main event. The match saw Nemeth retain the TNA World Championship against Josh Alexander in a one-hour Iron Man Match.

JBL had also previously accompanied Nemeth in his recent AAA TripleMania XXXII appearance, in which he dropped the AAA Mega Championship to Alberto El Patron.

Aside from a surprise appearance in the 2014 Royal Rumble match, JBL's last bout came at WrestleMania 25 in 2009 - a surprisingly quick Intercontinental title loss to Rey Mysterio.
