Update On Joe Hendry's WWE NXT Plans Following Heatwave Tease

Future WWE NXT plans for Joe Hendry revealed

Only days after Shawn Michaels said he wanted to work more with Joe Hendry, the head of NXT creative will indeed be spending more time with the TNA star.

An image of Hendry popped up in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo in the final moments of NXT Heatwave on Sunday night. Fightful Select's Corey Brennan has since reported that Hendry is planned to be used "heavily" as part of the crossover between WWE NXT and TNA in the coming weeks and months.

When exactly Hendry will next pop up in person on WWE TV is unknown but the small teases are set to continue as WWE looks to capitalise on Hendry's ability to go viral.

Hendry made his WWE NXT debut on the June 18 episode of NXT, working the battle royal to determine Trick Williams' challenger for the NXT Title at Heatwave. Hendry received a huge reaction when his music played to the point the WWE Performance Center was shaking. He then cut a promo, only to be dumped out of the battle royal within seconds by TNA foe Frankie Kazarian.

Hendry has enjoyed more success back on TNA IMPACT and he will challenge for the TNA World Championship in a Six-Way at Slammiversary on July 20.

Hendry may not be with TNA for many years, though, as WWE sources told Fightful Select "Who wouldn't?" after they were asked if the company would be interested in Hendry after his TNA deal expires.
