Wembley Stadium & Old Trafford Also Reportedly Being Considered For WWE UK Pay-Per-View In 2022

More reports around SummerSlam 2022 in the UK...

WWE are reportedly also considering Wembley Stadium and Old Trafford, on top of the Prinicipality Stadium, for a major pay-per-view in the United Kingdom in 2022.

Alex McCarthy of TalkSPORT reported earlier this week that the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, was considered the leading candidate for WWE to present SummerSlam 2022 from; 30 years after the iconic SummerSlam 1992 event from Wembley Stadium.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that the 74,000 seater-stadium in the capital of Wales isn't the only Stadium being seriously considered, with WWE also looking at Wembley Stadium in London and Old Trafford - the home of Manchester United Football Club - in Manchester.

Wembley can hold 90,000 for football and rugby events, while Old Trafford also holds around 74,000.

Meltzer also notes that one source based in the UK would only confirm that WWE were looking at Cardiff for a potential pay-per-view, and did not disclose that the event in question could be SummerSlam. WWE, meanwhile, have denied any truth in any of these reports.
