WWE's Pat McAfee In Talks With Amazon About Thursday Night Football Role

Pat McAfee could be set for a Thursday Night Football spot

Another lucrative deal could be on the horizon for Pat McAfee.

According to the New York Post, the WWE SmackDown colour commentator is in talks with Amazon about working on Prime Video's coverage of 'Thursday Night Football.'

That isn't all for McAfee, though, and there have also reportedly been conversations about airing 'The Pat McAfee Show' on Prime Video but nothing has been finalised as of yet. The former NFL punter's talk show currently airs on YouTube and SiriusXM.

Amazon Prime will become the exclusive home of TNF beginning with the 2022 NFL season. Amazon have already hired Al Michael and Kirk Herbstreit to be the Thursday Night Football announcers from September.

McAfee has previously revealed that he had spoken to Amazon executives but that he didn't want to be a colour commentator because of the time commitment.

McAfee has been a popular addition to the SmackDown broadcast team since his debut at the announce table after WrestleMania 37. He recently performed at WrestleMania 38, defeating Austin Theory at The Showcase Of The Immortals before suffering a loss to Vince McMahon.
