Jeff Hardy May Have Been Injured In SmackDown Dark Segment

The United States Champion could have sustained an injury in London.

Jeff Hardy may have sustained an injury during a dark segment following last night's SmackDown Live in London, England, according to many fans on social media.

Many in attendance reported that the United States Champion was limping throughout his dark match with The Miz.

Some suggested that he may have sustained an injury during his entrance rather than in the bout itself, and he is said to have been checked on by a doctor afterwards.

WWE have yet to comment on the possibility of an injury, while Hardy himself took to Instagram to post a message thanking the UK fans for their support. No mention of an injury was made.

Jeff won the United States Championship on the April 16 edition of Monday Night Raw, a week after WrestleMania 34. He defeated Jinder Mahal, who had just been traded to Raw as part of the Superstar Shake-up. Hardy himself was traded to SmackDown the following night, ensuring that the US title would remain on the blue brand.

In other news from the show, a number of UK wrestlers appeared on 205 Live. Former United Kingdom Champion Tyler Bate won an opening fatal four-way match also including Kenny Williams. The main event saw Welsh star Flash Morgan Webster team with Mustafa Ali and Cedric Alexander, taking on (and defeating) the team of fellow UK talents James Drake and Joseph Conners, as well as 205 Live regular Drew Gulak.

On SmackDown itself, Shinsuke Nakamura defeated WWE Champion AJ Styles in a non-title main event, meaning that he gets to choose the stipulation for their match at Money in the Bank on June 17.
