Absent WWE SmackDown Talent Expected To Return Soon

Another return seemingly coming soon to WWE SmackDown

An absent WWE talent might not be away from the company for much longer.

WWE are currently preparing for Crown Jewel and the November 3 edition of Friday Night SmackDown has already been taped in preparation for talents having to make the long flight from the United States to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Following Crown Jewel, though, an absent WWE talent in Odyssey Jones could be set to return with Mike Johnson of PWInsider Elite reporting that Jones has not been on the road with WWE recently but "that is expected to change" and he will be a member of the SmackDown roster.

Jones was actually drafted to Monday Night Raw earlier this year but he has had a rough start to life on the main roster as he has failed to debut since May. Jones has instead been booked in dark matches on SmackDown against the likes of Cameron Grimes and Cruz Del Toro, while he also lost to Bron Breakker at Superstar Spectacle, the special taped for the Indian market.

It emerged in the summer "there have never been significant creative plans on Raw" for Jones since he was drafted to the red brand. One plan under consideration as of early October, though, was for Jones to join the new faction of Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits on SmackDown

Real name Omari Palmer, Odyssey Jones has been a part of WWE since February 2019. He received a push during the latter months of the black-and-gold era of NXT in 2021 but his momentum was derailed by a ruptured patellar tendon which kept him out of action for a year.

In addition to Jones, a top WWE star is expected to return to WWE TV following Crown Jewel
