Adam Cole looks to be even closer to an in-ring return.

The former ROH World Champion has been out of action since sustaining a serious ankle injury at Dynamite Grand Slam in September of 2023 and Cole hasn't been on TV at all since being laid out by MJF at Double or Nothing in May 2024, being written off TV as him travelling was slowing down his recovery.

Cole was recently backstage at the August 14 edition of Dynamite, with it emerging in mid-August that the 35-year-old was set to resume training for an in-ring return. In a new update, Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Cole was backstage at AEW All Out on September 7 and he was said to be "walking around fine" at the event. Nobody in AEW was giving an exact return date for Cole, however.

Adam Cole has been a part of AEW since debuting at All Out 2021. He has spent much of his time in the promotion on the shelf, though, having been out of action for several months from the Summer of 2022 until early 2023 in addition to his current absence.
