Adam Cole Wins Men's Owen Hart Cup Tournament At AEW Double Or Nothing

Defeated Samoa Joe to win it all

Adam Cole wins the men's Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament, defeating Samoa Joe in the final round of the tournament at Sunday's Double or Nothing pay-per-view in Las Vegas.

Cole won after superkicking Joe down, repeatedly striking his face and his injured shoulder, before finishing with the Boom. Late in the bout, Bobby Fish interfered on Cole's behalf, causing Joe to release Cole from the Cocquina Clutch at one juncture.

Longtime WWE official Mike Chioda served as referee for the match.

Cole qualified for the Owen Hart Cup by defeating New Japan star Tomohiro Ishii. He then defeated Dax Harwood of FTR and Jeff Hardy en route to the final round.

Joe qualified for the tournament by defeating Max Caster of The Acclaimed. He then beat Joker entrant Johnny Elite and Kyle O'Reilly in succession to reach the finals.

The win also marks Adam Cole's pay-per-view victory in AEW. He previously lost as part of a six man trios match at November's Full Gear, and lost in a World title challenge to Adam Page at March's Revolution.
