Athena, Stokely Hathaway Debut At AEW Double Or Nothing

Two debuts moments apart

Stokely Hathaway and Athena debuted moments apart at AEW Double or Nothing on Sunday night in Las Vegas.

Hathaway debuted first, appearing late in the AEW TBS Women's title match between Jade Cargill and Anna Jay. After Kiera Hogan, Red Velvet, Mark Sterling, and John Silver all got involved late, Hathaway suddenly appeared just as Cargill finished Jay with Jaded off the top rope. After the match, Hathaway directed the attempt of Cargill and The Baddies to further beat Jay down.

After Kris Statlander ran in to save Jay, unfamiliar music hit, heralding the debut of "The Fallen Goddess" Athena. She, Statlander, and Jay stared down Cargill and The Baddies before the heels left without further confrontation.

Hathaway (formerly Malcolm Bivens) was released from WWE on April 29. Reports were that Hathaway had previously turned down offers to extend his contract.

Athena (formerly Ember Moon) was released from WWE on November 4. During her six year tenure with the company, Athena held both the NXT Women's and NXT Women's Tag Team titles (the latter with Shotzi).
