Adam Copeland seemingly wished to retain further elements of his 'Edge' persona, as Wet Yeti, Inc. filed to trademark several terms for the 49-year-old, including "Ledgend". Other terms trademarked include "The Iconoclast", "The Rogue", and "Cope." The filings were submitted through attorney Michael E. Dockins on the day Copeland made his AEW debut.

The former Edge made his debut in All Elite Wrestling on Sunday, October 1 to close out the WrestleDream pay-per-view. Copeland looks set to feud with Christian Cage in the coming months and the 11-time world champion will face Cage's only friend Luchasaurus on October 10 at AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday.

The trademarks were filed for the following purposes:

"Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, televised appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Providing online interviews featuring a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment for entertainment purposes."

WWE continues to hold the trademark for "Edge". No trademark has been filed against "Rated R Superstar" which is what allowed Copeland to continue using the nickname when he debuted in AEW.

Edge revealed why he decided to leave WWE for AEW following WrestleDream. His wife Beth Phoenix also plays an important role in his AEW entrance music.
