Adam Copeland is set to receive his first shot at a championship since joining All Elite Wrestling in October, with the ‘Rated R Superstar’ set to take on former best friend Christian Cage for the TNT Championship on AEW Dynamite on December 6.

Cage has made the TNT Title a featured part of AEW TV once more after the championship had lost some of its prestige, with Copeland revealing to Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso that he sees the title as being bigger than the AEW World Championship:

“It’s the title that’s the most important thing in the world to Christian,” said Copeland. “When the title is involved, that should always be the lynchpin of a story. It should hold enough significance to break up a friendship. That’s been lost in a lot of cases over the years, but I appreciate how he’s made the title important. His goal was to make it bigger than AEW world title. At this point, I believe he’s done it.”

Cage has been the official champion since winning the belt in a three way on AEW Collision in September 2023, with Cage having physically held the title since June 2023 due to former champion Luchasaurus being under Cage’s control.
