At the back end of last month, it was revealed that AEW had filed for the trademark of “East West Express” on November 27. In the filing it was stated that it would be used for a variety of clothing wear.

However, as stated by BodySlam.net, AEW have now abandoned the trademark in question, with the notice reading;

“OFFICIAL USPTO NOTICE OF ABANDONMENT TRADEMARK APPLICATION EXPRESSLY ABANDONED

"U.S. Application Serial No. 98285813 Mark: EAST WEST EXPRESS (STANDARD CHARACTER MARK) Owner: All Elite Wrestling, LLC Docket/Reference No.

"Issue Date: December 18, 2023

"On December 15, 2023, you filed a request to expressly abandon your application. Your application is now abandoned and we will take no further action on it.”

It isn’t entirely clear why AEW has now abandoned this trademark as of yet. It should be noted that the tag team name of East West Express is used by the duo of Jordan Oliver and Nick Wayne on the independents, though, and with Wayne now a member of Christian Cage’s Patriarchy faction, it could be a case of plans changing in AEW.
