AEW Blood & Guts Going Head-To-Head With Joe Biden's Address

AEW Blood & Guts airing against Joe Biden's address

AEW Blood & Guts could be in for a tough night in the ratings on Wednesday night.

The special Blood & Guts edition of AEW Dynamite will get underway at 8 pm ET on TBS, beginning at the same time as Joe Biden's address to the nation on his decision not to accept the Democratic Party nomination for president of the United States.

Biden announced on Sunday that he would not run for re-election in the 2024 presidential election before he endorsed his running mate, Vice President Kamala Harris. Biden's announcement came after weeks of concern about his age following a disastrous debate with Donald Trump, who recently accepted the Republican Party nomination for president.

Biden's address will see him explain his decision to withdraw from the race and reveal what he plans to do during the remaining months of his presidential term, according to NBC News.

AEW Blood & Guts will be headlined by the namesake match. The Elite of The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada, Jack Perry, and Hangman Adam Page will take on Team AEW of Swerve Strickland, Darby Allin, Mark Briscoe, and The Acclaimed. Also announced for the show is Chris Jericho vs. Minoru Suzuki for the FTW Title with the Learning Tree banned from ringside, Britt Baker vs. Hikaru Shida, the debut of "The Glamour" Mariah May, and a promo from MJF.

Politics and pro wrestling recently intertwined at the Republican National Convention as Hulk Hogan had a long speech endorsing his "hero" Donald Trump as president, during which he said Trumpamania would run wild.
