MJF's CMLL Challenger For AEW International Title Revealed

Who from CMLL will face MJF for the AEW International Title?

Upon defeating Will Ospreay for the AEW International Championship on Dynamite 250, MJF made the shocking announcement that he was heading to Arena Mexico to defend the title in CMLL.

MJF is heading to CMLL for their August 2 show, and during their show on July 23, CMLL revealed who will be facing AEW’s ‘Wolf of Pro-Wrestling’, holding a one-night mini tournament for the right to face MJF for the gold.

The tournament was eventually won by Templario, who defeated Averno in the final after hitting a top rope powerbomb for the three count.

MJF recently faced CMLL’s Hechicero, defeating the technical wizard at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on June 30 in his first pay-per-view match since dropping the AEW World Championship to Samoa Joe at Worlds End in December 2023.

It remains to be seen what kind of reception MJF will get upon making his CMLL debut, with the International Champion stoking up the hostilities by announcing he was coming to CMLL to face “those masked morons”.
