AEW-CMLL Working Relationship To Potentially Expand

Expect more AEW wrestlers to work with CMLL

The last few months have seen the development of a working relationship between AEW and CMLL, and this has seen the stars of both companies go head to head on multiple occasions.

Chris Jericho has battled with the likes of Atlantis Jr, Magnus, and Titan, gradually introducing more of these individuals to the AEW audience. Mistico has competed a fair few times on AEW programming too, with some flashy matches and strong victories. The biggest part of this CMLL and AEW relationship thus far has seen the stars of Blackpool Combat Club mix it up with names like Hechicero, Mascara Dorado, Volador Jr, Blue Panther, and Ultimo Guerrero.

AEW’s stars recently travelled to compete at CMLL Homenaje A Dos Leyendas 2024 in Arena Mexico, but according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, this doesn’t look to be the end by any means, as this has only incentivised even more AEW wrestlers to want to make the trip over to Arena Mexico. Jericho is named by Meltzer as one of these individuals, with the presumption being that his recent work with CMLL stars will end up with Jericho wrestling in CMLL and at Arena Mexico.

The continued expansion looks to be on the cards with many wrestlers being interested in working with CMLL names. It was noted earlier this year that Forbidden Door would also involve CMLL.
