AEW Collision Draws Record-Low Ratings For First Episode Without CM Punk

Not a good night in the ratings for AEW Collision

All Elite Wrestling had a tough night in the ratings on Saturday, September 2.

The first episode without CM Punk only averaged 345,000 viewers on TNT in the United States, down 37.5 percent from the prior week's Collision. The show drew a 0.11 rating in the 18-49 demo, down 31.3 percent from the prior week. Both total viewership and the 18-49 demo were record lows for Collision since the show premiered on June 17.

The September 2 episode of Collision peaked early, with the opening quarter-hour averaging 472,000 viewers and a 0.18 rating in the demo. The opening 15 minutes featured Tony Khan's explanation for CM Punk's firing and the angle that saw Bryan Danielson be revealed as Ricky Starks' All Out opponent. Collision's viewership tumbled throughout the two hours, with the final quarter-hour for Dax Harwood vs. Jay White averaging 244,000 total viewers and a 0.08 rating. Viewership then rose again for the two-minute overrun where the Young Bucks made the save for FTR.

AEW will face competition from college American football until the end of 2023. WWE pay-per-views will also remain on Saturday nights for the time being too.
