AEW Collision Spoilers For July 1 Episode

AEW Collision taping spoilers for July 1, 2023 episode

All Elite Wrestling have recorded the upcoming episode three of Collision, with the next episode pre-recorded due to the Canada Day holiday on Saturday, July 1.

AEW made the decision to record the episode from Hamilton, Ontario to avoid the national holiday, with AEW returning to live TV with Dynamite on July 5 in Edmonton, Alberta.

Here’s everything that went down at the Collision tapings.

SPOILERS AHEAD

AEW World Champion MJF begrudgingly made his Collision debut, shockingly pulling double duty. After dispatching of Kip Morst with a LeBell Lock, MJF wanted to fight a hometown wrestler, prompting Ethan Page to answer the challenge. ‘All Ego’ cut a babyface promo reminding everyone that he’s more than capable of holding his own in the ring despite everyone seeming to have forgotten that fact, and an incensed MJF finally agreed to face Page with the title on the line. Eventually, MJF would come out on top, but would need rope leverage to get the pin on Ethan after the Heatseeker.

Bullet Club Gold called out CM Punk, with Jay White saying he was interested in the gold that Punk keeps in his bag. They also called out FTR, and White and Juice Robinson will compete in an AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator on the next Collision.

Speaking of Punk, he was on hand to observe the Owen Hart Cup opening round match between Samoa Joe and Roderick Strong before a run-in post-match after Joe launched an attack on Strong after causing him to pass out to the Coquina Clutch. Strong was stretchered out as Adam Cole checked on his partner.

In other Owen Hart Cup news, Powerhouse Hobbs defeated Dustin Rhodes to advance, whilst Ricky Starks bested Juice Robinson. Elsewhere, Kris Statlander successfully defended the TBS Championship against Lady Frost.
