AEW Expected To Hold Talks With Kevin Kelly Following Reported Firing

Kevin Kelly and AEW expected to hold talks after reported firing

Kevin Kelly was reportedly fired by All Elite Wrestling in mid-March, with Kelly’s profile removed from the AEW roster website after a social media rant against Ring of Honor commentator Ian Riccaboni, and Kelly’s promotion of a controversial Q-Anon adjacent movie during Revolution weekend.

However, despite Kelly’s firing being widely reported it’s not yet been confirmed by AEW, with Dave Meltzer reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that sources within AEW have ‘no knowledge exactly’ as to the status of Kelly’s employment, or the situation in general.

Meltzer further reports that there is an ‘expectation’ of further discussion between Kelly and AEW in the future, noting that when Riccaboni’s comments about Kelly - pulled from a private Discord server - were made public that whilst the comments were addressed, ‘nobody’ within AEW will talk about the situation in more depth due to a potential threat of it becoming a legal situation.

As well as being removed from the AEW roster page, Kelly was also pulled from the March 9 broadcast of AEW Collision, with Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness calling the action as a two-man commentary booth.
