Tony Khan has declined to comment on the status of Kevin Kelly.

Kelly was absent from the Saturday, March 9 edition of AEW Collision, a show that was taped two days prior at the Gas South Arena in Duluth, Georgia. Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness were on commentary as a two-man booth for Collision.

Kelly's absence from the Collision taping came after he had been removed from the AEW roster page earlier in the day. It was then reported on Friday, March 8 that Kelly had been fired by All Elite Wrestling. Kelly's alleged firing came after he claimed, amongst other things, that ROH announcer Ian Riccaboni "libelled him" due to Kelly's promotion of an anti-child trafficking movie linked to Q-Anon. AEW also considered Kelly's appearances subpar.

After being asked about Kevin Kelly's status within the promotion by TVInsider, Tony Khan simply said: "I prefer not to comment on that, but I appreciate you asking."

Kelly signed with AEW in June 2023, joining the company as the lead announcer of Collision. Kelly wrapped up his critically acclaimed run with New Japan Pro-Wrestling soon after but Kelly found himself demoted to a colour role on Collision later in 2023.
