All Elite Wrestling officially confirmed on Wednesday night's edition of Dynamite that Colten Gunn is injured, an injury that forced the promotion to change their plans for the newly announced AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator Tournament.
It was revealed at the onset of Dynamite that eight teams will compete in a tournament to determine who will challenge The Hurt Syndicate for the tag team titles at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. Teams announced for the tournament so far include JetSpeed and FTR, but it was noted on commentary during Dynamite that Colten Gunn's injury prevented The Gunns from being a part of the eliminator tournament.
Colten Gunn suffered the injury on last week's AEW Collision during a four-way tag team match for $200,000. Gunn sustained the issue after landing awkwardly following a jumping punch spot with Big Bill, with Colten grabbing his knee and rolling to the corner immediately after the spot. He was absent from the in-ring action for the remainder of the contest, and Gunn was later helped to the back.
Colten Gunn's injury occurred just days after The Gunns made their return to All Elite Wrestling at All In when they assisted Juice Robinson in the Casino Gauntlet. The exact nature of Gunn's injury and how long he will be out of action is unknown.
