Will Ospreay is currently on the sidelines recuperating from injury, and the nature of Ospreay’s injuries has come to light.

The All Elite Wrestling standout was written off TV at All In Texas after having his neck Pillmanised by Claudio Castagnoli. Reports stated that Ospreay was set to take a few weeks off as he was a little banged up, but it was later stated Ospreay's injuries were worse than originally feared.

On the July 23 edition of AEW Dynamite, ‘The Aerial Assassin’ gave an update on his condition. Speaking with Tony Schiavone, Ospreay said he has a bad neck but kept the news to himself as he wanted to see through the Death Riders storyline. Ospreay also added that he is in fact dealing with two herniated discs (C2 and C6) that are going into his spinal cord, but the injuries are said to be treatable.

Dave Meltzer corroborated Ospreay’s claims, stating that the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion is indeed injured and that his comments were not part of a storyline. Ospreay is hoping to be able to be cleared for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door in London’s The O2 on August 24.
