Ring of Honor remain without a TV deal, despite reports for the past several years stating that Tony Khan was actively shopping the rights around.
ROH TV airs on the HonorClub subscription service, but a wider reaching broadcast deal would gain far more eyeballs on the product. As to why ROH remains without a deal, a report from Fightful Select states that whilst there has been interest in broadcasting ROH from a host of suitors over the past few years, nothing has indicated that a deal has ever come particularly close.
Tony Khan is believed to have a specific goal and deal amount in mind for ROH, and so far it seems no-one has come close to reaching such figures - whatever they may be. Reports in late 2024 suggested the historic indie brand was ‘close’ to securing a deal, but it seems such reports were premature.
Fightful’s report does suggest that discussions over an ROH deal with TruTV instead wound up with TruTV agreeing a deal to show AEW Dynamite replays on Friday nights after their offer for ROH seemingly didn’t meet Khan’s valuations. The deal for the Dynamite replays reportedly ‘wasn’t even an amount that AEW had particularly expected when hammering out their rights deal initially’, and could be seen as an added bonus of sorts for AEW.
