With a little under two weeks until AEW All Out on September 3, AEW continued the march towards Chicago, taping the upcoming editions of AEW Rampage and Dark Elevation on August 24.
- SPOILERS AHEAD -
The Dark order advanced to the semi finals of the AEW Trios Championship Tournament after defeating the House of Black. Alex Reynolds got the shock roll-up on Malakai Black whist the rest of the House were preoccupied by brawling with ‘The Redeemer’ Miro. An incensed Black joined Buddy Murphy and Brody King in beating down Miro until Sting and Darby Allin made the save.
TNT Champion Wardlow made short work of Ryan Nemeth, but ‘War Dog’ was watched from the stage by Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh, Sonjay Dutt, and Motor City Machine Gun Chris Sabin.
Rampage’s main event saw ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli successfully defend the title against Dustin Rhodes. ROH’s Caprice Coleman joined commentary for the bout, and after the show ended Claudio was joined in ring by Blackpool Combat Club team mates Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley. Moxley and Danielson put over everyone involved in the main event, including Arn Anderson and Wheeler Yuta at ringside, before introducing hometown boy Wardlow. Wardlow thanked the fans, then Tony Khan followed suit, before Danhausen and Hook appeared to send everyone home happy.
