All Elite Wrestling featured its second entrance from the rafters of 2024 as Darby Allin, clearly inspired by his mentor and former tag team partner Sting, descended from the ceiling in the closing moments of Dynamite on Wednesday night and joined Team AEW for Blood & Guts before kicking off a brawl with The Elite.

Sting, who made the spot famous in the 1990s, had not done the spot at all since 2007 but he brought it back one final time on the go-home edition of Dynamite before his retirement match at Revolution. Dr Martha Hart, the widow of Owen Hart, granted All Elite Wrestling her blessing ahead of Sting descending from the rafters in February.

Dr Martha Hart and AEW have maintained a close relationship over the past three years and they worked together to establish the Owen Hart Foundation tournaments. Ahead of Wednesday night's show, AEW once again sought Hart's blessing and, once again, she gave it, according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.

"AEW got Martha Hart's blessing to do the rafter entrance with Darby Allin," Sean Ross Sapp tweeted.

Rafter spots in pro wrestling have been incredibly rare since the tragic passing of Owen Hart in May 1999. Hart was scheduled to make his entrance from the top of the arena at WWE Over The Edge but the equipment lowering him to the ring malfunctioned, causing Owen to fall. He passed away minutes later due to internal bleeding from blunt force trauma.

WWE later settled a lawsuit, paying the estate of Owen Hart $18 million. Some of the funds from the settlement were used to establish the Owen Hart Foundation.
