With several big releases taking place across WWE’s post-WrestleMania period, talk drummed up about potential locations and signings for other promotions, notably in the case of AEW. Although none of these WWE releases have been signed yet due to their non-compete clauses, there is a belief that AEW will be adding to their roster in the very near future.
According to Fightful Select, it has been noted that AEW will be “adding nationally televised talent to their roster this summer”. While this doesn’t necessarily imply that AEW will be adding one of WWE’s recently released names to the roster, it does fall in line with some of the rumours and reports regarding those who have been let go.
For instance, it was reported last month that AEW were expected to sign Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods of The New Day, with many in the company pushing for this signature to happen. Other names thrown around in recent weeks have been TNA’s Leon Slater, who is expected to be in the middle of a tug-of-war between AEW & WWE once his contract expires, in addition to The Good Brothers, who The Young Bucks reportedly tried to bring back to the promotion.
