Ahead of bell-time, All Elite Wrestling Revolution 2024 was one of the most highly anticipated AEW shows for some time, with the retirement of Sting causing the show to reportedly sell out way ahead of time.

The show was a financial success too, with a report from Venues Now heralding the show for selling 16,118 tickets and securing a $1 million dollar gate. The report also suggests that AEW made around $349,000 gross off of merchandise sales at the event.

Revolution took place from the historic Greensboro Coliseum in North Carolina, the same venue that hosted Jim Crockett Promotions’ Clash of Champions I in 1988, which featured Sting and NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair famously going to a 45-minute time limit draw.

The first AEW pay-per-view event of 2024, Revolution is one of AEW’s traditional ‘big four shows’, with the company believed to be aiming to produce at least eight pay-per-view events in 2024. AEW are set to host the first-ever AEW Dynasty show in St. Louis on April 21. Dynasty is potentially going to feature the first-ever singles clash between Will Ospreay and Bryan Danielson.
