AEW’s Anthony Ogogo Returns To The US After Eye Surgery

Ogogo has been out since June

AEW’s Anthony Ogogo has finally returned to the USA after having eye surgery.

The former Olympic boxing medalist has a history of problems with his eye, and has been out of action and out of the country since June 2021, going under the knife for the tenth time.

Head of the The Factory QT Marshall gave an update on Ogogo’s status to the Daily DDT, saying the following:

“He just came back. He was overseas getting everything taken care of, so we’ll see," Marshall said.

In his short time with AEW, Ogogo was on the receiving end of a solid push, taking on Cody Rhodes on PPV at Double or Nothing in May. But as of right now, Marshall mentioned that there are no immediate creative plans for ‘The Guv’nor’:

"I think it’s about right place, right time and trying to figure out the right story as well," said Marshall. "But in the meantime, he’s been training and working out and doing what he does. He’ll be ready when that call comes.”

Marshall continued:

“I try to explain that to Anthony and everyone’s itching to get back. Right now, we have a huge roster of huge stars, so it’s just one of those things of going back to the drawing board and figuring it out."
