AEW Signs Thekla

Thekla has reportedly signed a deal with All Elite Wrestling, mere weeks after her exit from STARDOM.

It was reported in late April that WWE and AEW were preparing to enter a potential ‘bidding war’ to secure Thekla’s services, with it believed in early May that AEW had secured Thekla’s services. Now, Fightful Select are reporting that Thekla has indeed signed with the promotion.

The report states that Thekla had been planning her move to the United States for ‘quite some time’, with a deal between AEW and Thekla in the works for a while and Thekla hiring representation to help with her move and employment options.

Reports in 2024 suggested that WWE had scouted Thekla around the time they made a move to sign Giulia, with AEW also showing an interest in her services in late 2024.

A former Goddesses of STARDOM Champion and Artist of STARDOM Champion, Thekla departed STARDOM after a loss to Sayaka Kurara at STARDOM’s All-Star Grand Queendom event in April. Thekla attacked STARDOM President Taro Okada post-match, leading to her ‘firing’ from the promotion.
