AEW To Investigate CM Punk's Claim He Paid For His Triceps Surgery

CM Punk’s claim he paid for his own triceps surgery to be investigated by AEW

As part of CM Punk’s recent interview with Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour, the former AEW World Champion claimed he paid for his own triceps surgery in 2022 amongst other jabs at his former employer, going against claims from AEW that they will foot the bill for injuries sustained on their watch.

All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan was asked about Punk’s claims during the pre-Dynasty media call, with Khan saying the following to Punk’s claims:

"We typically do pay those expenses. I’d have to look into that. I can’t say for sure. It doesn’t sound right to me. If that is the case, I would reimburse him, honestly. I didn’t think that was the case and it doesn’t sound right, so I would have to look into that. Typically, we do cover those medical expenses, especially for something that occurred in the ring, as that did, so I would have to look into that. I can’t say for sure," said Khan.

Punk suffered the injury at All Out 2022 after his AEW World Championship win over Jon Moxley.
