AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament Begins On Next Week's Collision

AEW's tournament to crown new Tag Team Champions will begin soon

The AEW World Tag Team Championships are currently vacant following the events of the 2024 AEW Revolution PPV. Sting & Darby Allin vacated the gold after a successful defence against The Young Bucks due to Sting’s retirement from the ring, leading AEW with no tag champions for the first time since 2019. It was revealed shortly after the show that a tournament would be held to crown the brand new champions, and now we know when that will begin.

During last night’s episode of AEW Collision, it was announced that on the following week’s show on March 16 from the Canadian Tire Center in Ottawa, Ontario Canada, the AEW World Tag Team Championship tournament will begin.

Fans have already learned of some names who want to be involved in the tournament, as the likes of The Young Bucks, Best Friends (Orange Cassidy & Trent Beretta), The Infantry from ROH (Shawn Dean & Carlie Bravo), and FTR have all expressed their desire to become the new champions. It isn’t known what the full field will be nor when the finals to crown a new team with the gold will be held.
