AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2024 proved to be another big show for All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

AEW CEO Tony Khan announced during the post-Forbidden Door media scrum that the pay-per-view drew a gate of over $1 million with 11,000 fans in attendance at the UBS Arena in Long Island, New York on June 30.

This is the third straight year that Forbidden Door has drawn over $1 million and had at least 11,000 fans in attendance.

Plans for Forbidden Door extended beyond AEW and New Japan in 2024, with CMLL and World Wonder Ring STARDOM also involved in matches on the show. All Elite Wrestling have established strong working relationships with CMLL and STARDOM over the past year, while NJPW have worked with the two promotions for several years.

Headline matches at Forbidden Door included Will Ospreay vs. Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship, Jon Moxley vs. Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP World Heavyweight Title, Orange Cassidy vs. Zack Sabre Jr, and Mercedes Moné vs. Stephanie Vaquer for the AEW TBS Title and NJPW STRONG Women's Championship.

AEW, NJPW, CMLL, and STARDOM will hold another show together on January 5, 2024 in Wrestle Dynasty from the Tokyo Dome.
