Alex Shelley Celebrated IMPACT World Title Win With Kevin Nash-Inspired Meal At Waffle House

Alex Shelley celebrated IMPACT World Title win in tribute to Kevin Nash

After decades of blood, sweat, tears, and service, Alex Shelley finally lifted the IMPACT World Championship at Against All Odds after defeating Steve Maclin for the strap.

Whilst champions from wrestling's annals may have celebrated with parties and champagne, Shelley instead opted for a Waffle House celebration, with Sports Illustrated stating that the Motor City Machine Gun celebrated with a meal of four scrambled eggs, two chicken breasts, steamed hash browns and whole wheat toast - the same meal Kevin Nash bought for Shelley 17 years prior.

Nash took many of TNA’s X-Division stars under his wing during his time in the company, both on-screen and off it, and as Shelley revealed to SI, Nash’s enduring wisdom stuck with him:

“I think back to Ric Flair and Harley Race defending the belt in multiple cities in one night,” said Shelley. “Those guys didn’t take nights off. Kevin Nash is another one. That stretch he had as WWE champion was insane. He said something that always stuck with me when he said, ‘I could either sleep or I could work out.’ If you find a gym, you take it. CM Punk took care of me on the road 20 years ago. If he passed a gym, he worked out. That’s part of how he left his imprint on the business. They led by example, and that’s what I plan to do.”
