Alex Shelley Files To Trademark 'Motor City Machine Guns' & 'MCMG'

Could Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin be on the move soon?

In another sign that Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin could be set to leave TNA when their contracts expire, Shelley recently filed to trademark the terms 'Motor City Machine Guns' and 'MCMG'.

The former TNA World Champion filed to trademark the terms on March 19. The full description reads:

"Mark For: MOTOR CITY MACHINE GUNS trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of bandanas; Hats; Shirts; Shirts and short-sleeved shirts; Sweatshirts; Hooded sweatshirts."

"Mark For: MCMG trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of bandanas; Hats; Shirts; Shirts and short-sleeved shirts; Sweatshirts; Hooded sweatshirts."

A recent report noted that there was a belief within the company that Shelley and Sabin's TNA deals were due to expire within the month. The duo, who have wrestled as The Motor City Machine Guns for the best part of two the last two decades, were announced as having signed one-year deals on March 23 of last year.

Another report indicated that the contracts TNA have been offering talent are "categorically different" to what had been expected. Some talent have supposedly been offered per-date deals, as opposed to full-time contracts.

It is unclear whether this change has directly affected Shelley and Sabin.
