Alexander Wolfe: I Know NXT Talent Who Have Refused WWE Main Roster Call-Ups

Wolfe, released by WWE last month, returned to NXT after a difficult time on SmackDown

The former Alexander Wolfe has revealed that there are a section of talent in NXT who have refused call-ups to the WWE main roster.

Superstars that have thrived in WWE's black-and-gold brand are by no means guaranteed the same level of exposure on either Raw or SmackDown. The likes of Aleister Black, Keith Lee, Andrade and others have struggled for air time once brought up to the main roster.

Wolfe - also known as Axel Tischer - was originally called up from NXT to SmackDown with SAnitY but returned to NXT and NXT UK after the faction quietly disbanded. He says he never wanted to return to the main roster after his experience, and knows a lot of guys who don't want the call up, with some even outright refusing.

Speaking to WrestleTalk, he said: "I know a lot of guys, they do not want to get (called) up. They’ve openly said they wanna stay (in NXT).

"They had the chance to go up and they refused to do it even if the money’s more. Which I really respect, and after I came back to NXT and NXT UK, for me it was also like I never wanted to go back up.

"It does not have anything to do with yourself, your abilities, or even the main roster itself. You get lost in the shuffle because of reasons. And in the end, it’s not really anybody’s fault because you cannot put everybody on the telly."

Wolfe was told last month by WWE he would be leaving the company upon the expiration of his contract this month.
