Another Wrestler Who Was Considered For American Gladiators Revealed

Another pro wrestler was considered to be a gladiator in the reboot of American Gladiators.

According to Fightful Select, Freya the Slaya was considered for American Gladiators in late 2024 and she had a tryout for the show. Producers of American Gladiators ultimately passed on the talent, however.

Freya the Slaya has been wrestling since 2019 and she is a regular for Ohio Valley Wrestling. Slaya is a three-time OVW Women's Champion and most recently held the title in February 2024.

Wrestlers selected for American Gladiators include All Elite Wrestling's Wardlow and Kamille, Jessie Godderz, J-Rod, and former WWE talent Rick Boogs. The Miz is the host of American Gladiators and the rivalry between WWE and AEW has reportedly already caused rumblings of issues for the Amazon Prime-backed series.

Filming of American Gladiators is underway and is set to continue until July 1. The show is being filmed at an ice hockey arena in Paris, France with those in attendance being offered €50 or €20 gift cards for being in the crowd.
